Oklahoma Law allows the owner(s) of residential real estate property to file for and receive a Homestead Exemption on their property if: (1) they were the owners of record on January 1 and (2) are living in the property. In addition to receiving a $1000.00 reduction in the assessed value of the property and tax savings of $90 - $135 per year, filing for the Homestead Exemption also establishes a legal record of Homestead of a residence.
If you would like to know if you currently have Homestead Exemption on your home, or how to file for the exemption, contact me at : SHELLYKAMM@TULSAREALTORS.COM , (918) 645-3733.
You have until March 15th to file for the homestead exemption for 2005 If you have previously filed for the Homestead Exemption on your current residence, you do NOT need to file again! |
